Five stars highly recommended field axe for Australian timber.

IMO if you want to purchase an axe intended for hardwood and Australian timbers, you can't go wrong with Helko classic range. Contrary to the popular opinion, Comparing Helko's classic range with the Gransfors Bruks traditional field axe, the Helko is superior. It sticks less is a better splitter and more practical if you need to choke up on the handle. The axe is hard to fault; it comes sufficiently sharp to use straight out of box and quality is equal to any Swedish manufacturer. The apparent negative, buckling up the blade guard is annoying, laces would be more practical.
